Freedom Forge Press is now accepting submissions for novels and novellas for both print and electronic publication.
We’re looking for novels, novellas, and nonfiction works of about 25,000 – 100,000 words. All works should fit the theme of freedom—freedom of thought, freedom of action, freedom of the individual.
We are open to any genre (including nonfiction, general fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, young adult) with the exception of erotica as long as the work fits the theme of freedom. Excessive violence, sex, and profanity should be avoided, but these elements should be included when integral to the plot. Works for young adults should be limited to a “PG-13” rating. Works for children will be published under our Freedom Footprints imprint.
For the best chance at being offered a publishing contract, submitted works should be proofread, polished, and engaging with a strong plot and a clear style.
We are open for submissions until further notice; we will post a notice providing a 60-day “warning” before we close submissions.
How to Submit:
Send a one-page synopsis (including the intended age range of the work and the way the work addresses the theme of freedom); the first three chapters; and one additional chapter of your choosing, to us at submissions [at] freedomforgepress [dot] com. Send these documents as .doc, .docx, .pdf, or .rtf files.
The subject of your email should be SUBMISSION: TITLE, YOUR NAME. You should also include a list of published works (if any) and a one-paragraph author bio. Submitting a brief marketing plan (explaining how you believe your book will be successful in the marketplace) is not required but may increase your chance of acceptance.
For the initial submission package, you can expect a response within 8 weeks, though we will try to get back to you as soon as possible. If you have not heard back from us after 8 weeks, please feel free to follow up via email. If a full manuscript is requested, response times may be longer.
